Robo Co-op is proud to announce that Robo Lab® – Innovation OS Without Border has been featured in the UNDP DigitalX 3.0 Catalogue, a global platform highlighting digital solutions that advance human security through innovation. 

The DigitalX Catalogue is part of the DigitalX 3.0 initiative, led by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)’s Digital, AI and Innovation Hub with support from the Government of Japan. The initiative brings together digital innovations from around the world that address pressing social and economic challenges through technology-driven approaches. 

◆What is Robo Lab®? 

Robo Lab® is the service and innovation platform developed under Robo Co-op, a refugee-led digital cooperative based in Japan. 

While many initiatives focus only on digital skills training, Robo Lab was created to bridge the gap between learning and real economic participation. The model combines peer-based learning, paid project work, and cooperative participation to create practical pathways into the digital economy for refugees and displaced people. 

Through Robo Lab, cooperative members work on real projects in areas such as: 

• ▫AI training and AI integration  

• ▫IT consulting and digital operations  

• ▫Automation and AI agents  

• ▫QA testing and back-office support  

• ▫International remote collaboration and impact sourcing  
  
  

The platform connects global digital service needs with refugee talent through an impact sourcing approach — creating opportunities where displaced people can build skills, gain verified work experience, generate income, and contribute as digital professionals. 

◆Built by Refugees, for Refugees 

At the center of Robo Co-op’s approach is meaningful refugee participation. 

Robo Lab is not designed only for refugees, but also with and by refugees. Members learn together in small peer-based groups, collaborate on real projects, and later teach and mentor new members themselves. In this way, learning, work, and leadership become interconnected. 

The model aims to reduce barriers often faced by displaced communities, including limited access to formal education systems, lack of recognized credentials, language barriers, and restricted access to employment opportunities. 

By combining cooperative participation with practical work opportunities, Robo Lab seeks to create a more inclusive and sustainable approach to digital livelihoods.

◆Advancing Human Security Through Digital Innovation 

Robo Lab strongly reflects the vision of the DigitalX 3.0 initiative: using digital innovation to advance human security and expand access to opportunity. 

As digital economies continue to grow globally, Robo Co-op believes that displaced communities should not be left behind. Instead, refugees and displaced people should be recognized as contributors, innovators, and part of the future digital workforce. 

Being featured in the UNDP DigitalX 3.0 Catalogue represents an important milestone for Robo Co-op and for the broader vision of refugee-led innovation and inclusive digital economies. 

◆Looking Ahead 

Robo Co-op will continue expanding Robo Lab’s impact sourcing and digital livelihood initiatives through partnerships with companies, governments, municipalities, NGOs, and international organizations. 

The organization remains committed to building pathways where displaced people can not only learn digital skills, but also access meaningful work, contribute to global digital projects, and participate more fully in the digital economy.

UNDP DigitalX 3.0カタログは、デジタル・イノベーションを通じて人間の安全保障の向上に貢献するソリューションを紹介するグローバルプラットフォームです。 

DigitalX 3.0は、国連開発計画（UNDP）のDigital, AI and Innovation Hubが、日本政府の支援を受けて推進するイニシアチブです。世界各地のデジタル・イノベーションをつなぎ、テクノロジーを活用して社会的・経済的課題の解決に取り組む取り組みを紹介しています。 

◆Robo Lab®とは 

Robo Lab®は、日本を拠点とするシングルマザーや難民主導のデジタル協同組合 Robo Co-op が開発・運営する、サービスおよびイノベーションのプラットフォームです。 

多くの取り組みがデジタルスキルの習得に重点を置く中、Robo Lab®は「学び」と「実際の経済参加」の間にあるギャップを埋めるために生まれました。 

Robo Lab®では、ピアラーニング、実際の有償プロジェクトへの参加、そして協同組合としての参画を組み合わせることで、難民や避難を余儀なくされた人々がデジタル経済に参加するための実践的な道筋をつくっています。 

Robo Lab®を通じて、協同組合のメンバーは以下のような分野で実際のプロジェクトに取り組んでいます。

Robo Lab®は、インパクトソーシングのアプローチを通じて、世界のデジタルサービス需要と難民人材をつなぎます。これにより、避難を余儀なくされた人々がスキルを身につけ、実務経験を積み、収入を得ながら、デジタル人材として社会に貢献できる機会を生み出しています。

◆難民による、難民のための取り組み 

Robo Co-opのアプローチの中心にあるのは、難民自身の主体的な参画です。 

Robo Lab®は、単に難民「のために」設計されたものではありません。難民とともに、そして難民自身によってつくられているプラットフォームです。 

メンバーは少人数のピアグループで共に学び、実際のプロジェクトに協働して取り組み、やがて新たなメンバーを教え、伴走する立場にもなっていきます。このように、学び、仕事、リーダーシップが相互につながる仕組みを大切にしています。 

このモデルは、避難を余儀なくされた人々が直面しやすい、正式な教育制度へのアクセスの制限、資格や経験が認められにくいこと、言語の壁、雇用機会へのアクセスの難しさといった課題の軽減を目指しています。 

協同組合としての参加と実践的な仕事の機会を組み合わせることで、Robo Lab®は、より包摂的で持続可能なデジタル生計支援のあり方を実現しようとしています。 

◆デジタル・イノベーションを通じて人間の安全保障を前進させる 

Robo Lab®は、デジタル・イノベーションを通じて人間の安全保障を前進させ、機会へのアクセスを広げるというDigitalX 3.0のビジョンと深く重なっています。 

デジタル経済が世界的に拡大する中で、Robo Co-opは、難民や避難を余儀なくされた人々が取り残されるべきではないと考えています。むしろ、彼らは貢献者であり、イノベーターであり、未来のデジタル人材の一員として認識されるべき存在です。 

UNDP DigitalX 3.0カタログへの掲載は、Robo Co-opにとって、また難民主導のイノベーションと包摂的なデジタル経済の実現に向けたビジョンにとって、重要な一歩です。

◆今後に向けて 

Robo Co-opは今後も、企業、政府、自治体、NGO、国際機関などとの連携を通じて、Robo Lab®のインパクトソーシングおよびデジタル生計支援の取り組みをさらに拡大していきます。
