page_title

For Robo Co-op, 2025 was a year in which the potential of technology, diversity, and cooperation became visible and tangible, both in Japan and globally.

This report reflects on a year shaped by international collaboration, strategic partnerships, awards, and hands-on learning and practice on the ground.

Advancing Digital Inclusion Across Borders

In December 2025, Robo Co-op participated in the Global Refugee Forum (GRF) Progress Review held in Geneva, Switzerland.

Together with international partners, we announced a strategic pledge to advance refugee-led digital inclusion and cooperative innovation.

As part of the forum, Robo Co-op also co-hosted a roundtable discussion that brought together representatives from governments, UN agencies, businesses, NGOs, startups, and refugee communities.

The discussion focused not on who receives support, but on who becomes an agent of change, fostering practical and forward-looking dialogue.

Turning Learning Into Real Opportunities

In 2025, Robo Co-op launched several new initiatives designed to connect learning directly to real-world opportunities.

The Robo Co-op Monthly Learning Challenge

A monthly program enabling participants to continuously build future-ready AI and technology skills.

The Robo Co-op Tutor Portal

A platform where professionals contribute as pro bono tutors, supporting learners worldwide through shared expertise.

The Global AI Ambassador: Tech for Peace Program

An initiative empowering refugees to use AI creatively and ethically, amplify their own voices, and build careers in the digital field.

All of these initiatives share a common principle:

Learning should not end with training. It should lead to meaningful work, participation, and agency.

Recognized Not Just for Technology, but for Values

In 2025, Robo Co-op received the Pioneers in SDGs Awards 2025 – Innovation Award.

What was recognized was not technology alone, but a model in which refugees, single mothers, and individuals from diverse backgrounds learn, work, and participate as decision-makers and co-creators.

Robo Co-op also earned the Gold Certification of the Cultural Diversity Index (CDI)reflecting our commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion as an organizational culture, not merely as a concept.

From Local Communities to a Global Vision

From signing a comprehensive partnership agreement with Ama Town in Shimane Prefecture,

to advancing AI and automation training programs by refugees, for refugees,

to exploring distributed digital cooperative models inspired by Mondragon,

The initiatives of 2025 demonstrate how local, practice-based efforts can connect to global dialogue and contribute to shaping future social models.

Looking Ahead

At the conclusion of the annual report, Robo Co-op shares the following vision:

Building a society where diversity is naturally embraced through technology and co-creation.

A society where technology is accessible rather than exceptional,

and where diversity is not an accommodation, but a given.

Robo Co-op will continue to cultivate cooperative models in which people learn, work, and create value together through action, partnership, and shared ownership.
